What is #Gender? Why is it important to the Study of Religion?

My thinking did not really change from this lesson, but I did learn more about gender and why it is important in Religious Studies. I definitely relearned a lot of facts about gender and the origin of it as well. One of the things I found fascinating was the video discussing gender expression. It was a quick video, but it explained gender expression well. I think it is fascinating because I realized how gender can intertwine with religion since gender expression allows gender connotations, which deals with clothes. I find it interesting that the video includes gender identity and explains how it can contrast from gender expression. Another thing I found fascinating is how Nye’s chapter discusses gender mentions vocabulary such as psychoanalytic theory. I like how it explains the theory and connects it to religion. I find it interesting since it is a term that I feel not a lot of people know about and it introduces it in the paragraph, then it shows you how it is related to religion. I did not find anything unclear from this lesson.
